Prince Rogers Nelson was born June 7, 1958 in Menneapolis, Minnesota and is best known for perfoming under the name PRince, though his name and identity have varied over the years. From his early material, rooted in R & B, funk, and soul, he has constantly expanded his musical palette absorbing many other genres including new wave, pop, rock, blues, jazz and hip hop. The distinctive characteristics of the early-to-mid 1980s work became known as the "Minneapolis sound".
Prince has released several hundred songs, both under his own name and through other artists. Regarded as a perfectionist, he produces, composes, arranges and performs nearly all of the sons on his albums.
Critics have dubbed him a musical genius due to his proficiency at various instruments and this dvd reveals through many interviews why Prince is so respected by fellow musicians and also adored by his fans worldwide.
