One of the most controversia - and charismatic - soccer players of all-time, the argentine football player Diego Maradona is one of the greatest footballers ever.
Born in october 1960 in a small shantytown, Maradona was one of the three brothers who became footballers, his first big break came as a member of the junior team of the buenos aires side argentinos juniors, making his debut with them at the age of 15 years. Maradona appeared with the argentina national football team at the age of 16, playing against hungary. Two years later he played the football world youth championship for argentina, and was the star of the game, which resulted in a 3-1 win over their USSR opponents. Later Maradona played for FC Barcelona and SSC Napoli. Maradona led the argentine national team to victory in the 1986 world cup, winning 3-2 in the final against west germany. He also captained argentina in the 1990 world cup, and played two matches in the 1994 world cup before being controversially suspended after failing a drug test.
