The Island - The Story Of The 1980 TT [SE] - Michl Technik

To mark the 30th anniversary, Duke is proud to release on DVD for the first time The Island, the story of the 1980 Isle of Man TT.
This is a rare record of the world’s leading motorcycle racing festival from a time when there were few cameras on hand to capture the action and atmosphere.
The Island was the first film released by Duke, and to mark the importance of the 30th anniversary DVD release we will include special bonus features. The programme includes a look at the racing around the legendary Mountain Circuit from 1980, featuring Joey Dunlop, Ron Haslam, Graeme Crosby and Mick Grant, but also takes in the offtrack atmosphere which makes the TT such a unique festival.
Other highlights include coverage of a motocross meeting featuring Andy Roberton, a trials event featuring Martin Lampkin and amazing speedway action with stars Tony Briggs and Ivan Mauger.
The TT continues to attract tens of thousands of fans to the Isle of Man every year and its global following is growing with increased television and media coverage. Interest in the event’s history is at an all time high, as the strength of sales of Duke’s archive TT classics has shown.
The release on DVD of the 30th anniversary edition of The Island will be supported by a dedicated marketing and publicity campaign targeting leading specialist publications, including Motor Cycle News and Motorcycle Racer, as well as national and regional newspapers and more than 100 other proven media contacts.
